CANNING VALE - MARCH 2009

WELCOME

VICTORIAN BUSH FIRE APPEAL
Thank you to everyone who has got behind the Victorian Bush Fire Appeal
via State Swim or other associations. We raised in total $9221.20, it’s
amazing what we can achieve when the challenge is upon us, well done
to everyone involved. $1215.20 was donated through our various tins,
ice cream containers and even an old ‘fireman’s’ helmet on the receptions
desks at each swimming school. State Swim itself, donated the
remaining $8006.
Funds raised will be used to provide assistance to individuals and
communities in towns and suburbs affected by the 2009 Victorian bushfires.
An independent panel made up of community leaders will oversee the
Appeal Funds operation.
Please note: Red Cross will not deduct any costs from public donations
to cover Appeal costs. All interest earned on donations will be invested
back into the Appeal.

State Swim value your feedback, so please let us know
if we can improve your and your child's swimming experience,  email us
on admin@stateswim.com.au

Thank You

HEALTH & SPORT NEWS

Now that school is well and truly back, we will be extremely busy making sure
State Swim children are the best prepared at school carnivals. Therefore we
will keep on pursuing the best possible technique and continue to challenge
swimmers at all levels.

Get ready for the next Super Swim on Thursday 26th March, 6 to 7-7.30.30pm
All Team Gold, Silver, Bronze and 400 Gold members are encouraged to attend.

The February Super Swim has been but not forgotten! The attendance on the
night was fantastic and the organisation was well done- a big thank you to the
coaches for your efforts on the night. The swimmers in the Health & Sport
Program have been training very hard over the last month and it definately
showed as almost all swimmers achieved a personal best time in all of the
strokes they competed in- well done guys!
Again another big thankyou goes to the parents and friends who come down
and helped out on the night and also support the swimmers. The night would
not be so successful without your commitment to the swimmers.
All of the time cards are ready to be collected so please see your coaches for
your time cards or ask reception. It is also good to see some of the swimmers
in the 400 Gold Program coming down and getting involved in the Super Swims.
Not only is it a good chance to see what the Health and Sport program is like
after 400 Gold but it also gives you the chance to see how fast you can swim
and really challenge yourself to reach your potential.

The Cyber Swim results will be available from reception soon.
